Abstract: In *Feminist Human Rights: A Political Approach* Kristen Hessler makes the case for a more inclusive approach to theorizing human rights. Using a broadly pragmatist methodology, Hessler focuses on the activism of marginalized groups for their own human rights as an articulation of moral knowledge that can and should shape human rights law. In this symposium an interdisciplinary panel critically reflects on Hessler's arguments, including the book's close analysis of testimony and jurisprudence in the ad hoc international criminal tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia on crimes of rape and sexual violence.
