The panel will offer criticisms of the books and its main argument for "retrieving" liberal socialism as a viable political-theoretical tradition. It will also situate the book's broader argument in political context that includes right-populist condemnations of liberal democratic "elites" in the name of the people and assess whether it provides resources for left-liberal responses.

Participants:
Matthew McManus (Author, Lecturer at the University of Michigan)
Victor Bruzzone (Post-Doctoral Research at the University of Pennsylvania)
