Since 2018, Janet Brown has conducted in-depth polling on behalf of CBC Calgary that examines the political views of Albertans. This research goes beyond “horse race” numbers to identify the underlying dynamics driving public opinion in Alberta. The most recent survey, conducted in April 2026, examines the core political values of Albertans and their views on Alberta separation. Janet will present key findings from this research and how they help answer some of the contemporary burning questions about Alberta politics such as, “How real is the possibility of a ‘YES’ vote in a separation referendum?”, “Who are the Alberta separatists?”, and “How does Danielle Smith continue to defy political gravity?”

Depuis 2018, Janet Brown mène des sondages approfondis pour le compte de CBC Calgary afin d'examiner les opinions politiques des Albertains. Ces recherches vont au-delà des simples "courses électorales" pour identifier les dynamiques sous-jacentes qui façonnent l'opinion publique en Alberta. Le plus récent sondage, réalisé en avril 2026, examine les valeurs politiques fondamentales des Albertains ainsi que leurs points de vue sur la sécession de l'Alberta. Janet présentera les principales conclusions de cette recherche et montrera comment elles aident à répondre à certaines des questions brûlantes de la politique albertaine, telles que : « Quelle est la réelle possibilité d'un vote "OUI" lors d'un référendum sur la sécession ? », « Qui sont les sécessionnistes albertains ? » et « Comment Danielle Smith continue-t-elle de défier la gravité politique ? »
